Fibernet takes part in the 11th UPM – TASSI Series of Conferences

Last 9th April Jose María Marín and Fernando Barbero talked about fiber-optic protection of critic communications within the series of conferences free of charge presented at the South Campus of the Technical University of Madrid, on the occasion of the 11th UPM – TASSI Series of Conferences.
This meeting is aimed to publicize the last advances in security and information protection from different points of view: networks, data, management, legislation and standards. Spreading advances and new developments in information technologies. Promoting knowledge and a critic analysis of the information, with its positive development aspects and also with its threats. Analyzing the social, environmental and ethical impact of the use of information technologies and communications, their accessibility and the liberty and privacy environments of humans. Getting to know the reality of businesses, industry and public entities regarding security and information society.
Fibernet’s speakers explained fiber-optic advantages compared to copper in data integrity, but also it weaknesses in terms of unwanted intrusions, as well as the possibility of detecting such intrusions and the need of data encryption. Offering a general view of cryptography and explaining the encryption system of Fibernet’ s equipment.
