Fibernet announces new high-tech solutions in DUSAC systems: FTX-100G cards
These transponder cards make it possible to transport any service of up to 100 Gbps though a sole interface
Fibernet’s DUSAC architecture, mainly oriented to Data Center connectivity, permits a joint transmission of multiprotocol services in a transparent manner, without adding any latency to the optical C/DWDM systems.
These characteristics of transparency, the lack of latency and the support to multiprotocol services are reflected in all the FTX cards that work as interfaces in the DUSAC family.
Fibernet has announced today the FTX-100G card, a highly flexible multiprotocol interface that expands the DUSAC-family card range, compatible with the DUSAC 4800 and DUSAC 350 series. This new FTX card of Fibernet includes all the functionalities of the DUSAC family, providing more versatility in terms of protocols supported, as it is possible now to transport any service of up to 100 Gbps by means of a sole interface.
The card, that supports 100GbEthernet and 0TU4 protocols, presents two plug-in interfaces, both at the customer side and at the line side; both of them may work as local or remote side. The card is compatible in terms of optical and management characteristics to operate with the rest of the interfaces of the DUSAC family. Its sturdy design, with functionalities and performance suitable for operation, permits to minimize maintenance operations on the DWDM network. It also adds capacities that provide a better operation on the customer services transported.
FTX channel interfaces are optical transponders. Each of them gives support to a digital and bidirectional user’s channel. Therefore, they are connected to the user’s equipment on one side (local port) and to the FMD optical module (MUX/DEMUX) on the other side (line or remote port).
Both locales and remote ports are placed at the card front. The type of local collection can be adapted to the client’s needs connected to it (LR-4, ER-4, SR-10, etc.). Line interfaces are configurable and will adapt to the engineering requirements of each project (coherent long-haul modules, LR-10, ZR-4, ER-4, LR-4, etc.). These are some of the features and functionalities of the FTX-100G cards:
- Diagnosis aid measures: BERT, logical loops, etc.
- Measures of output and input power levels at local and line ports.
- Power threshold alarms.
- Total monitoring of plug-in modules.
- Protocol configuration by software.
- Inclusion of coherent detection modules to cover long distances.
- Compatibility with tunable laser line modules.
- Energy efficient.
- Metro applications, “long-haul” and data center connections.
- FEC may be included.
- 1:1 protection types in the configuration of DWDM networks with route protection and 1+1 (TWIN protection) with another twin card.
